Las Posadas Celebration

To keep alive locally the cherished holiday traditions meaningful to many Wilsonville area residents of Latino American descent, the City of Wilsonville welcomes guests to attend the third annual Las Posadas celebration on Thursday, Dec. 18, 4-6 pm at the Wilsonville Community Center.

Highlighting the virtues of unity, hospitality and faith through the biblical story of Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem in search of shelter, Las Posadas is a global nine-day event that takes place Dec. 16-24.

Throughout Las Posadas, nightly celebrations re-enact the Nativity story, and feature piñatas and a rich assortment of food, music, and holiday tradition.

Presented by members of the City’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee, Wilsonville’s Las Posadas celebration will include refreshments, musical performances and other surprises to delight guests of all ages. The DEI Committee appreciates the generosity of the 2025 Title Event Sponsor Oregon State Credit Union.

The event program will be posted in early December 2025.

Para mantener vivas a nivel local las preciadas tradiciones navideñas significativas para muchos residentes de ascendencia hispana/latinoamericana del área de Wilsonville, la ciudad de Wilsonville da la bienvenida a los invitados a asistir a su primera celebración de Las Posadas el martes 18 de diciembre, de 4 a 6 p.m. 

Destacando las virtudes de la unidad, la hospitalidad y la fe a través de la historia bíblica del viaje de María y José a Belén en busca de refugio, Las Posadas es un evento global de nueve días que se llevará a cabo del 16 al 24 de diciembre.

A lo largo de Las Posadas, las celebraciones nocturnas recrean la historia de la Natividad y presentan piñatas y una rica variedad de comida, música y tradiciones navideñas.

Presentada por miembros del Comité de Diversidad, Equidad e Inclusión de la Ciudad, la primera celebración anual de Las Posadas en Wilsonville incluirá refrigerios, música y otras sorpresas para deleitar a los invitados de todas las edades.
