Already a participant and want to log your steps?
Walking more can lead to better health, help the environment, and provide an opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends~ regular, brisk walking is one of the simplest and safest forms of physical exercise. By incorporating a 30-minute walk into any day, heart disease and diabetes risk can be reduced and a healthy weight maintained.  Next time you have a chance to walk rather than drive, consider the benefits.

Look for opportunities to walk with your children, family or friends. Consider adding other walking routines to your day by organizing a lunchtime walking group at work, or a before-or after-work group with friends or neighbors.
What are you waiting for? It’s time to Walk Smart. Ask us how, we are here to help inspire you.

How to Join?
Take the first step toward a healthier you and request a Walk Smart Kit from walksmart@ridesmart.com or 503-570-0332

Walk Smart is a free program that encourages participants to walk more by providing tools and inspiration. Each participant receives  a  pedometer, safety light and a log sheet  to record their daily step counts. They also receive information on the benefits of walking and tips on safe walking.  At the end of each month participants turn in their step counts online. Walk Smart participants who turn in their monthly step counts (see step counter , Orange link at top of page)  on time are eligible to win rewards in a monthly random drawing.
