Walk SMART is a free program that encourages participants to walk more by providing tools and motivation. Each participant receives a Walk SMART kit that includes a safety light, a log sheet to record their daily step counts, Walk! Wilsonville booklet, information on the benefits of walking and tips on safe walking. At the end of each month, participants turn in their step counts online. Walk SMART participants who turn in their monthly step counts on time are eligible to earn rewards in a monthly random drawing.
Walk SMART participants must either live or work in Wilsonville.

We have Walk SMART kits available for pick up at our office on Boberg Rd. You can come in any time between 8-5 M-F, they are available at the front counter.
You will simply need to leave your name and email with the dispatcher and you will be walking SMART.
Look for opportunities to walk with your children, family or friends. Consider adding other walking routines to your day by organizing a lunchtime walking group at work, or a before-or after-work group with friends or neighbors.

Benefits of Walking
Walking more can lead to better health, help the environment, and provide an opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends. Regular, brisk walking is one of the simplest and safest forms of physical exercise. By incorporating a 30-minute walk into any day, heart disease and diabetes risk can be reduced and a healthy weight maintained. Next time you have a chance to walk rather than drive, consider the benefits.
At some point in our day, whether we drive a car, ride a bike or take transit to get around, we are first pedestrians. Many of the trips we take are short, within a 20 minute walk, and could be taken by foot, giving you a chance to exercise, time to unwind and get to know your surroundings in a new way.
Any Wilsonville business can be a contributor to the event, find out more about opportunities for businesses to get involved.
